Outline of suggestions for what should be said and done at the meeting in Trafalgar Square

1*. We will acknowledge what God has done for Britain in the past, and thank Him for it.

2*. We will acknowledge the true state of our nation.

3. We will show some of the reasons why this country has gone away from God.

4*. We will declare our faith in the One True God.

5. We will confess our faults and weaknesses on behalf of the churches of Britain, especially the fact that we have been silent for too long. We will call for God’s mercy, ask Him to withhold his judgment, and we will ask for courage to end our silence.

6. We will confess on behalf of all the people of Britain, and ask for God’s mercy.

7*. We will call on the leaders of Britain to turn back to God in repentance.

8. We will call on the people of Britain to turn back to God in repentance.

9*. We will declare our determination to be silent no longer.

10*. We will pray against the forces of darkness, and ask God to act in response to our plea.

We acknowledge the good hand of God in the history of this nation. God has favoured this nation like no other nation on the face of the earth.

a) In the making of its laws.

The laws of this land were based on i) the laws of the Roman Emperor Justinian, which were, themselves, based on Christian principles, ii) the laws of King Alfred, incorporating the 10 Commandments, and iii) the laws of King Henry II, which were also Biblically based. This system continued until the second half of the 20^th Century, when the politicians thought they knew better than God, and started to change and dismantle these laws.

b) In the ordering of its institutions.

Our history has not been unblemished, but it has been shaped and directed and undergirded by the Providence of God and the Word of God. It was the Reformation of the 16^th Century, bringing the Bible in English to the people of this land, plus the revival of Christianity in the 18^th Century, with its fuller outworking in the 19^th Century, that gradually ended the slave trade and the keeping of slaves; limited the working hours of employees; brought freedom from work and the provision of free education to all children, a God centred education with high academic and moral standards; humanised our prison system; (privileges still not seen in many parts of the world,); caused the setting up of our health and hospital systems and our social welfare organizations; brought stability and respect for authority and the rule of law, restraining crime and immorality, enabling an unarmed police service to be set up; created a thrifty, hardworking society that pioneered the industrial and the agrarian revolutions, and established an Empire that stretched around the world; brought high standards of workmanship that were respected universally; purified the literature, the speech and the manners of this land, and raised the moral standards of this nation. Furthermore, through the British Empire and Commonwealth, these privileges were extended to many other countries.

All these privileges made this country unique, like no other nation, for God could bless and prosper such a nation that put Him first, and sought to direct its affairs according to His word, for His word says "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord." (Ps.33:12) We, therefore assert that as we put God first, and adhered to Christian principles, that God blessed this nation, and made Britain great.

"We thank you, Almighty God, Creator of the universe, for every way in which You blessed and prospered this land of Britain, in spite of all our mistakes, as we sought to put You first in the affairs of this country. Accept our thanks, and help us to show our gratitude in the way we live and what we do in the future. We pray in the name of Your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen "

2. An acknowledgement of the true state of our nation.

But Britain is no longer what it once was. A deep sickness has penetrated to the heart of our society. In spite of all that our politicians and leaders try to do, this nation is in steep decline. All around us is the growing evidence of moral and spiritual disintegration. The family, the basic unit of society, is under serious threat. The marriage based family, i.e. one man and one woman joined together for life, bringing up their children in safety and security, has been devalued and assaulted to such an extent that it has led to social chaos and increasing suffering. The media glorification of sex, violence and bad language has polluted and twisted the minds of millions, especially the young. Sexual promiscuity is actively promoted, as never before in history, so that we have the highest rate of teenage pregnancies in Europe, and sexually transmitted diseases are almost out of control. Vandalism, graffiti and litter spoil and disfigure our roads and buildings. Our cities and urban areas are contaminated with swearing, blasphemy, binge drinking, drug taking and violence, with many people afraid to walk alone at night, and parents afraid to let their children out, even in the daytime. Crime has increased to such an extent that nothing is safe anymore. Nobody dares to leave their home unlocked. Cars have to be locked and fitted with extra security features. Houses, shops, business premises and even building sites have to have surveillance systems with closed circuit televisions. Our prisons are overfull, yet most crime is undetected.

We have the highest level of personal debt of any country in the world, and the highest level of national debt, per person, of any Western country. Our bankers and our politicians have been shown up as greedy and untrustworthy. Deceit, dishonesty and greed dominate the nation. We need to face the truth about Britain. We have lost our standards, and everything that made Britain great. We have become selfish, greedy and vulgar. The virtues of kindness, courtesy, modesty, humility, gentleness, thrift, honesty and integrity, which characterised the people of this realm, have almost been lost. We should be appalled at such a state of affairs. Our grandparents would never believe that Britain could sink to such a low ebb. Unless a radical change takes place in our society, this nation will plunge deeper into debt, despair, destruction and chaos.

4. A Declaration of Faith in the One True God

Those of us who are here today are going to make a start. We are going to confess our failings before God, but firstly, we are going to affirm our faith in Him and His truth, by using words from His sacred book, the Bible.

We believe that:

There is only one true God, the Lord Jehovah, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that there is no god besides Him. (Is.45:5-7 etc.)

He alone, whose name is the Lord, is the most high over all the earth. (Ps.83:18)

He has created light, life, death and all things. (Is. 45:18 etc.)

He will not give His glory to any other. (Is. 42:8)

Before Him no god was formed, nor will there be any after Him, and apart from Him there is no salvation. (Is.43:10-11, 45:21)

He will reign for ever and ever. (Ex.15:18,Ps.10;16, Ps.102:12)

The Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, is the One through whom everything was made. (Jn.1:3,Col.1:16, Heb.1:2)

He is the image of the invisible God. (Col.1:15)

He holds everything together. (Col. 1:17,n Heb. 1:3)

He is the light of the world. Those who do not follow Him, walk in darkness. (Jn. 8:12)

He has the words of eternal life. (Jn. 6:68)

Everyone who is of the truth hears His voice. (Jn.18:37)

He was crucified, dead and buried, but rose from the dead, is alive for ever, and has the keys of death and hell. (1Cor.15:3-4, Rev.1:8)

Therefore God has exalted him and given him a name that is above every other name, that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. ( Phil. 2: 9-11)

That is why there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name given to men, by which we must be saved.( Acts 4:12)

We declare that, according to His word, the Bible, this one true God is the source of all power, life, truth, goodness and beauty.

He is holy, righteous and perfect, and, therefore, hates all sin, everything that is not in accordance with His word. This includes pride, selfishness, laziness, greed, stealing, cheating, lying, dishonesty, fortune telling, astrology, lack of respect, disobedience to parents, jealousy, lust, all sexual relations that are outside marriage between a man and a woman, drunkenness, drug taking, cruelty, fighting, murder, war and idolatry, i.e. anything that takes the place of God in our lives.

At the heart of this is rebellion against God, people saying we will not have God reigning over us.

We declare that God never changes. He remains the same. (Mal.3:6) Therefore He hates all sin, but loves all sinners, and wants them all to change, and to be saved from their sins.

But this is possible only because Jesus paid the price for man’s sin on the Cross, and only through people repenting of their sin, turning from it, believing in Jesus Christ, and accepting Him as the Lord of their lives.

We, therefore call on all of you who have not yet repented of your sin, to do so today.

7. A Call to the Leaders of the Nation, to turn back to God.

a. All the leaders of the nations are under an obligation to act and rule under the authority of the one true God, the Creator of the universe, to whom they are accountable.

The Bible says, "Be warned O rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Acknowledge the Son, lest He be angry, and you be destroyed in your way." (Ps.2:10-12)

It also says, "All those who oppose God and are angry with Him will be put to shame." (Is.45:24)

It also prophesies that, "The nations will fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth will revere Your glory. (Ps. 102:15)

b. In addition to this admonition to all nations, this country, like the United States of America, has been founded on belief in the One True God. "It is the duty of nations as well as of men," said Abraham Lincoln, the greatest president of America, "to acknowledge their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures, and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed, whose God is the Lord."

c. Furthermore, the laws of this nation of Britain, and the ordering of its institutions over many centuries, have been based upon the Word of God and Christian principles, making this country unique, and enabling God to prosper and bless this land like no other on the face of the earth.

d. In addition to that, may we remind you, as the leaders of this country, that this nation is not a republic, but is a constitutional monarchy founded on Christian principles. Government ministers are not like ministers of other countries, but are ministers of the Crown, responsible to the Queen. The Queen, at her coronation, promised to maintain the laws of God, the true profession of the Gospel and the Protestant reformed religion, established by law. Therefore the ministers of the Government of the United Kingdom, of Scotland and Wales, as ministers of the Crown, are obligated to maintain the laws of God, the true profession of the gospel and the Protestant reformed religion, not pursue their own ideas. The Queen herself is under authority, the authority of Almighty God. She is responsible before God for the affairs of this country; and the ministers of the Crown are then responsible, under her, for administering that responsibility.

e. There is, therefore, a four-fold responsibility upon the government of this country to act according to the revealed will of God. But you, as the leaders of this country, have singularly failed to do that. Previous governments since the Second World War passed laws that were against the will of God, but you have failed to repeal these. Moreover, you have enacted many more laws that go against the Laws of God, against the true profession of the gospel and against the Protestant reformed religion. You are, therefore, under the grave judgment of God, and you need to repent of this.

f.It is imperative that you realize, in these days of pluralism and multiculturalism, that what we are declaring is not just one point of view against another, nor just one religion against another, but the word of Almighty God that will last for ever, and will be your judge. We know this because the true God, the Creator of the universe, has vindicated Jesus Christ as His Son by raising him from the dead, and by so doing has confirmed the truth of His claims, and made it clear that He is the person who will judge the world. No other religion can make that claim.

g. Not only did you not repeal any previous government legislation that was in direct contradiction to the word of God, but you repealed something that was right in the eyes of God, Clause 28, thereby promoting homosexual practices, which God regards as an abomination. You have done all you could to weaken and destroy the family, the basic unit of society. You removed the tax allowances for those properly married couples, discouraging people from getting married and encouraging people to ‘live in sin.’ You have promoted sexual promiscuity among children and young people with your sex education programmes purposely going against Biblical standards and giving no moral guidelines, and by providing every possible help for unmarried mothers. Consequently, we have the highest number of teenage pregnancies in Europe, the highest number of sexually transmitted diseases in Europe, and the highest number of people with HIV in Europe.

h. You have enabled people of the same gender to get "married," and adopt children, something which God would regard as reprehensible. You have legislated against proper Biblical disciplining of children. You have brought in new drinking laws, which have increased binge drinking and drunkenness. You have funded those involved in cruelty, torture and killing of thousands of defenceless animals and thousands of defenceless children in their mother’s wombs, and victimised those trying to defend them. By your policies towards taxation and financial institutions, you have favoured the rich and unleashed naked powers of greed and corruption. Almost everything you have done has been aimed either at breaking God’s laws or at promoting covetousness and greed, and taking people away from respect for God and His truth. Instead of promoting "the true profession of the gospel and the Protestant reformed religion," and encouraging the preaching of the gospel that will change people’s lives for the better, you have made it more difficult to preach and live out the gospel, and have even sought to silence Christian witness by intimidating and criminalizing Christian believers. It is an insult to our forefathers that in this country, where freedom of conscience and speech to declare the word of God was established at great cost, that you are now trying to forbid the declaration of the truth, and those who are seeking to live peacefully and affirm their right to do so unobtrusively, are victimised and punished for doing so. Your actions have almost wrecked our Christian heritage, and it is high time that you were held to account for all this, for you have despised the Living God and His laws. It is no excuse to say that most of the laws you pass originate from Brussels, for a) you have advocated closer European integration, and have underlined this by refusing to have a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty, and, b) other governments in the E.U. have not been so anti Christian as you.

i. Moreover, national and local government, the police service, the legal and judicial services, the education service and other organizations are linked together in carrying out the dictates of parliament, so they should all be carrying out the purposes of God, but because they have been carrying out your programme, you have been responsible for them all going against the will of God.

j. This country, as a result of your policies, is already under the judgment of God, so is having to pay the price, especially in the breakdown of the family, the basic unit of a stable society, with the majority of children in this country now not being brought up by their own parents in a married relationship. Consequently, we have the most undisciplined, the most disrespectful, and the most foul mouthed children and young people that this nation has ever seen, (thankfully with some exceptions,),incredibly high crime rates, and overfull prisons, even though most criminals are not caught,

k.The fact that God is not blessing this country but is judging it, should be very obvious to you. The secular humanist experiment, trying to legislate for this country without God, has been tried, and shown to be a failure, for Godless, secular humanism has no answer to the basic problems in our society: the selfishness, the greed, the dishonesty, the litter, the graffiti, the swearing, the vulgarity, the lack of respect, the truancy from schools, the expulsions from schools, the crime, the fear of going out at night, the violence, the alcoholism, the drug taking, the break up of families with the resulting rise in homelessness, the sexual promiscuity, the huge numbers of teenage pregnancies and single mothers, the alarming increase in Sexually Transmitted Diseases, etc. Visitors from other countries are amazed and alarmed at the state of Britain now, and how it has declined so far and so fast.

l. You know that the accumulated result of all this is putting a huge strain on the economy of this country, and this cost will become more and more difficult to bear. Going against God does not pay. No society has ever institutionalised iniquity, as you have, and not come under judgment, for it is only righteousness that exalts a nation. As it is, we have the highest level of personal debt of any country, the biggest budget deficit of any country in the developed world, and are the worst placed nation in the Western World to cope with the current financial crisis. This is because this country, having received so much from God, has now turned its back on Him, so it will have to suffer more than other countries, unless it repents. This means that you, as the nation’s leader, will have to show the way in repentance. If you continue to destroy the Biblical foundations of our society, God’s judgment on this land will get worse, (and many prophecies have been received confirming this.) So repent now before it is too late.

m. In the 19^th Century, Queen Victoria sent a message to two African chiefs. "Britain has become great and happy by the knowledge of the true God and Jesus Christ." It would be true to say that Britain is now not great and happy, because, aided and abetted by your legislation, it has turned away from the knowledge of God and Jesus Christ. Christianity, therefore, needs to be reaffirmed as the historic faith of this country. This is not, in any way, to limit freedom of expression to other religions, but to acknowledge the supreme authority of the One True God and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ over this land, and ensure that Christianity cannot be marginalized again.

n. Therefore we call upon you:

a) to publicly acknowledge the True God, the Creator of the universe, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, as the God upon whom this nation was established, and who blessed and favoured this land.

b) to publicly acknowledge, like Abraham Lincoln, your dependence upon the overruling power of God, and to recognize that only those nations are blessed whose God is the Lord.

c) to publicly admit that you and your government have gone away from God, His word and directions; to admit that, as ministers of the Crown, you have not carried out your responsibilities, under the Queen, to maintain the Laws of God, the true profession of the Christian gospel and the Reformed Protestant Religion.

d) to publicly reaffirm Christianity as the historic faith of this country.

e) to seek the wisdom of God and the prayers of God’s people in all your decisions.

f) to allow freedom of conscience, and stop criminalizing those who are seeking to live peacefully in accordance with the Bible, bearing witness to the One True God and His truth.

g) to stop funding any organizations that are actively going against the teachings of the Bible.

h) to re-establish godly laws that have been rejected and legislated against.

Now is the time to humble yourself and return to the true God, so that He can take His hand of judgment away from Britain, show mercy to us, restore us and bring this land back into conformity with His will. This has happened before. You can make it happen again. But time is running out. If you do not stop your programme now, and decide to go God’s way, the very fabric of our society will be destroyed, all the good things in Britain that enabled God to bless us and prosper us will be lost, and more severe judgment will fall. Therefore we urge you to repent now.

9. A declaration to this country that we will be silent no longer.

We, as the people of God, stand together and acknowledge that we are responsible before God for the spiritual and moral state of this land of Britain. We, therefore, declare that from this day forward, we will declare the word of God as truth, no matter what it costs.

Those in authority in this land, the government, the police, the local authorities, those in education, in the media and in every walk of life, need to know that as they have already sought to push God and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ out of their reckonings, and reject His ways; that if they do not respond positively to the truth presented to them from now on, they will be held accountable to Almighty God for their conduct. You have come into leadership in a land where the light of the gospel has shone for hundreds of years, and you have sought to put that light out. We will not let that light be extinguished. We will not give this nation away to the forces of darkness who are trying to steal our Christian heritage from us. We have stood together to declare the truth about the eternal God, and we will continue to do so.

Furthermore, we call upon all Christians in this land to stand up and be counted with us. The situation is too desperate to do anything less. This country is already under the judgment of God for rejecting His word, so we need to warn the nation that if it continues on the way it is going, the result will be chaos, for God will visit this land in judgment, and it will then be too late.

10. A Prayer for God to act in response to our plea.

O God, this land has gone away from You, and deserves your judgment; but we stand in the gap between your righteous anger and this sinful nation, and plead with you to hold back Your hand of judgment and have mercy on Britain, this country that has known your favour. "In our time, make Your name known to Your adversaries; in wrath, remember mercy."

Show your power and do a miracle, O Lord, in answer to our confessions, our prayers and our Declarations today. Rend the heavens and come down on this land; make Your name known to Your adversaries, so that this nation will tremble at Your presence. Destroy the works of darkness, nd let righteousness abound, that Your glory may dwell in this land.

"It is time for you to act, O Lord, for Your Law has been broken." (Ps.119:126)
"Arise O God, and let Your enemies be scattered, and let those who hate You, flee before You.(Nu.10:35)
"Arise, O Lord, and do not let man prevail before You. Let the nations be judged before You. Put them in fear, O Lord. Let the nations know that they are but men." (Ps.9:19-20)
"Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord. Awake as in days of old." (Is.51:9)
"In your majesty, ride forth victoriously for the cause of truth and to defend the right. Let your right hand display awesome deeds." (Ps.45:4)

We declare to the spiritual powers of darkness that we defy you and resist you in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. We claim the protection of the blood of Jesus, and tell you that we will not allow you to steal the Christian heritage of this nation any more, but we will stand against you and declare the word of God with authority.

"Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, and let Your glory be over all the earth." (Ps.57:5)

We believe that: "By dread deeds, you will answer us with deliverance, O God of our salvation, (Ps.65:5) and that "You will arise and have mercy upon us, for the time to favour us, the appointed time, has come.

The nations will fear the name of the Lord, and all the rulers of the earth will revere Your glory." (Ps.102:12-15)
